Description
Dunlop Q5A Sportmax Tires
The Dunlop Q5A expands the Q5 Sportmax family with a more street-oriented motorcycle tire featuring both a dual compound front and rear tires for maximum tread life. A dual compound front ensures the tires will maintain their profile throughout the life of the tire. This means you are less likely to experience uneven tire wear, which typically can cause the front tires to cup before the tread is worn out. Dunlop utilizes a jointless tread within the tire’s carcass construction to increase stability and grip across all Dunlop Q5 motorcycle tires.
The Q5A has some key differences compared to the others. The Q5A uses a higher amount of Silica in the rubber, giving it better wet weather performance. It also has a new aggressive tread pattern and more cutouts for water evacuation. Overall, the Q5A utilizes harder rubber compounds in the center and edges of the tire than what is used in a Q5S or standard Q5 tire. Also, the profile of the tire is flatter. A flatter-profile tire provides more stability, especially when the bike is upright. All these reasons combined are what makes the Dunlop Q5A motorcycle tires better suited for everyday street use compared to other Dunlop sport tires. If you were a fan of the Dunlop Q3 tires back in the day, you’re gonna love the new Q5A.
